Have you ever had a favorite corner in your house? Maybe a cozy spot where you like to sit with your favorite toy or book? In a Hindu home, there is a very special corner just for God. We call it a Puja Sthana. That means "a place for worship." It is like God's little home inside your home!

Long ago, there was a little girl named Meera. She loved God so much that she wanted to talk to Him every single day. So her grandmother helped her set up a tiny altar on a small shelf in her room. They placed a beautiful picture of Lord Krishna there. Meera put a fresh flower next to it every morning. She would close her eyes, fold her hands, and say, "Good morning, Krishna!" That little shelf became the happiest spot in her whole house.

You can make your own altar too! Here is how:

First, find a clean, quiet spot. It can be a small table, a shelf, or even a clean corner on a desk. Ask a grown-up to help you pick the best place. It should be somewhere calm where you can sit quietly.

Next, place a picture or a small statue of God. This is called a Murti. You can choose any form of God you love — maybe Ganesha with his cute elephant head, or Rama with his bow, or Lakshmi with her beautiful lotus flower. You can even have more than one!

Then, add a small lamp. We call it a Diya. When we light the diya, it fills the space with warm, golden light. The light reminds us that God takes away all darkness and fear. A grown-up should always help you light it.

You can also place a small bell on your altar. When you ring the bell, it makes a sweet sound — "ting ting ting!" The sound tells God, "I am here! I am ready to pray!" It also helps your mind become quiet and peaceful.

Flowers make the altar look so pretty! You can pick a fresh flower from your garden or use one from the store. Place it gently near the murti. God loves flowers because they are soft, colorful, and smell wonderful — just like love.

Some families also keep a small cup of water and a tiny plate of fruit or a sweet on the altar. This is called an offering. When we share something yummy with God, it is our way of saying "thank you" for all the good things in our life.

Every morning, you can visit your altar. Fold your hands, close your eyes, and say a little prayer. You can say "Om" or simply say, "Thank you, God, for this beautiful day." You can also sing a short song if you like!

Keeping your altar clean is very important. Wipe it with a soft cloth. Change the old flowers. This shows respect and love for God.

Remember, your home altar is not just wood and pictures. It is a place full of love. Every time you sit in front of it, you are telling God, "You are welcome in my home and in my heart." And guess what? God is always happy to visit!

So go ahead — ask your parents or grandparents to help you set up your very own Puja Sthana today. Make it colorful, make it clean, and fill it with love. It will become the most special spot in your whole house!
