Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Prahlada. He was a prince! His father was a powerful king named Hiranyakashipu. The king was very, very strong. He thought he was the strongest person in the whole world. He told everyone, "You must pray only to me! I am the greatest!"

But little Prahlada did not agree. Even though he was just a small boy, Prahlada loved Lord Vishnu with all his heart. Every morning, every evening, and even in his dreams, Prahlada would say, "Om Namo Narayanaya!" That means, "I love you, Lord Vishnu!"

This made his father very angry. "Stop praying to Vishnu!" the king shouted. "Pray to me instead!" But Prahlada smiled softly and said, "Dear Father, God is everywhere. He is in you, in me, in the trees, in the water, and even in the rocks. I love Him and I cannot stop."

The king tried many ways to scare Prahlada. He sent scary elephants to chase him. But Prahlada just closed his eyes and prayed, and the elephants became gentle. The king pushed Prahlada off a high cliff. But Lord Vishnu caught him softly, like a feather floating down.

Then the king had a tricky idea. He asked his sister, Holika, to help. Holika had a special magic cloth that protected her from fire. She sat in a big fire with little Prahlada on her lap. She thought the fire would hurt Prahlada but not her.

But guess what happened? Prahlada kept praying, "Om Namo Narayanaya!" The magic cloth flew off Holika and wrapped around Prahlada instead! The fire did not touch Prahlada at all. God had protected him again!

Finally, the king was very, very angry. He pointed at a big stone pillar and shouted, "You say God is everywhere? Is your God in this pillar too?"

Prahlada said calmly, "Yes, Father. God is everywhere."

The king hit the pillar with his fist — CRACK! And out came Lord Vishnu in an amazing form called Narasimha — half lion and half man! He had a lion's big, brave face and a man's strong body. Narasimha roared so loudly that the whole palace shook.

Lord Narasimha defeated the proud king and kept Prahlada safe. Then something beautiful happened. Lord Narasimha, who looked so fierce, became very gentle with Prahlada. He placed the little boy on his lap and smiled at him.

Prahlada bowed and said, "Thank you, Lord. Please bless my father too." Even after everything his father had done, Prahlada still wished good things for him. That is how big Prahlada's heart was!

What can we learn from Prahlada? We learn that loving God makes us brave. We learn that God is always with us, no matter what. And we learn to be kind, even to people who are not kind to us.

So remember, just like Prahlada, you can talk to God anytime! When you are happy, when you are scared, or when you need a friend — God is always listening. You can say, "Om Namo Narayanaya!" and feel God's love all around you, just like a warm hug.

Prahlada was just a little boy, just like you. And his love for God made him the bravest prince of all!
