A long, long time ago, there lived a monkey named Hanuman. But he was no ordinary monkey! Hanuman was very, very strong. He was also very kind and very brave. And he loved Lord Rama with all his heart.
Lord Rama was a good and noble prince. He had a beautiful wife named Sita. Rama and Sita loved each other very much. But one terrible day, a wicked king named Ravana took Sita away! Ravana flew off in his magic chariot and hid Sita on an island far, far across the ocean. The island was called Lanka.
Rama was so sad. He missed Sita. He needed help to find her. That is when Hanuman stepped forward. "I will go find Sita for you, Lord Rama!" Hanuman said. His eyes were full of love for his friend.
But there was a big problem. Lanka was across a giant ocean! The water stretched out as far as anyone could see. How could Hanuman get there? There were no boats big enough. There were no bridges.
Hanuman stood on top of a tall mountain by the sea. He took a deep breath. He thought about Lord Rama. He thought about how much he wanted to help. And something amazing happened! Hanuman began to grow. He grew bigger and bigger and BIGGER! He became as tall as a mountain himself!
Then Hanuman bent his strong legs and jumped! WHOOOOSH! He flew up into the sky like a rocket! The wind rushed past him. The clouds tickled his face. He soared high above the blue ocean. Birds looked up in wonder. Fish peeked out of the water. Everyone watched the mighty monkey fly!
But the journey was not easy. Tricky troubles tried to stop him. A big mountain rose out of the sea and said, "Rest here, Hanuman!" Hanuman was kind. He touched the mountain gently but said, "Thank you, friend, but I cannot stop. Rama is counting on me!" And he kept flying.
Then a scary sea creature tried to swallow him whole! Its mouth was as big as a cave. But clever Hanuman made himself very tiny, zipped inside, and popped right back out through its ear! The creature laughed and said, "You are very smart, little monkey. Go on your way!"
A shadow monster also tried to grab him from below the waves. But Hanuman was too quick and too strong. Nothing could stop him because his heart was full of love for Rama.
Finally, Hanuman saw the island of Lanka. It had golden towers and tall walls. He made himself small again and landed softly on the shore. He had done it! He had flown all the way across the ocean!
Hanuman searched and searched. At last, he found Sita sitting sadly in a garden under a big tree. "Do not worry, Mother Sita," Hanuman said gently. "Rama sent me. He loves you and he is coming to save you."
Sita smiled for the first time in a long while. She gave Hanuman a jewel from her hair to take back to Rama. Hanuman held it close to his heart.
Do you know what made Hanuman so strong? It was not just his big muscles. It was his love. When we love someone and want to help them, we can do amazing things too! We can be brave when we are scared. We can keep going when things are hard.
You can be like Hanuman! When your mom or dad needs help, when a friend is sad, when something feels hard — think of Hanuman. Take a deep breath, fill your heart with love, and try your very best. That is the secret power of Hanuman — love makes us strong!
Jai Hanuman!
