Vyavaharika(Practical)

Vyāpti is the logical principle that wherever one thing is found, another thing is always found alongside it. It is the universal, exception-less relationship between a reason and what it proves — for example, 'wherever there is smoke, there is fire.' In everyday reasoning, it is the dependable pattern that allows us to draw valid conclusions from observable signs.

Adhyatmika(Spiritual)

Vyāpti represents the deep interconnectedness woven into the fabric of reality, the invariable relationships that the disciplined mind learns to perceive through careful observation and contemplation. In the path of Jñāna, recognizing true vyāpti — distinguishing genuine pervasion from mere coincidence — sharpens the intellect (buddhi) and prepares it for discerning the eternal from the transient.

Paramarthika(Absolute)

At the highest level, vyāpti points toward the one Pervasion that underlies all others — Brahman pervading all of existence without exception. Just as the logician seeks the hetu that is never found apart from the sādhya, the realized sage recognizes that no point in existence is apart from the Absolute. The ultimate vyāpti is the mahāvākya itself: sarvam khalvidam brahma — all this is indeed Brahman.
